20/09/2017

September 20th 2017: SMBC Aviation Capital is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID). SMBC Aviation Capital will be a Business Partner of the centre, working towards the shared goal of ensuring that all graduates have the same access to quality further education and the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue successful careers.

From the end of September, the company will welcome Paula Conradie, a recent graduate of the programme to join the team for a three month placement. The company will also provide financial support to TCPID and its programmes.

Barry Flannery, CFO of SMBC Aviation Capital said, "We are delighted to welcome Paula and to offer her the opportunity to develop her skills and immerse herself in our business. We are privileged to support The Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities which provides vital support to ensure that all graduates are afforded the same opportunities."

Marie Devitt, Pathways Co-Ordinator of the TCPID added, "We are delighted that SMBC Aviation Capital has come on board as a Business Partner. Our goal is to ensure that our graduates have the same opportunities in life as their fellow graduates of Trinity College. Our Business Partners play a central role in helping us to achieve this goal. They offer our students and graduates meaningful work placement opportunities which helps to further develop their skills and greatly supports them in their career paths."

Through the Business Partners programme, the TCPID can now offer work placements, mentoring, training workshops and graduate contract opportunities. The ultimate goal is to find permanent employment for graduates of the programme and to help to build true inclusion in the workplace and in the community.
