Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Overview of Role

The Finance team is responsible for providing management and financial information to and between the business and three key stakeholders:

  • Senior management
  • Shareholders
  • Third party stakeholders such as auditors, regulators and tax advisors

This particular role is a senior technical accounting role which is extremely visible within the business. The role has a wide variety of responsibilities. Specifically, providing technical accounting solutions and transactional analysis from an accounting perspective, whilst also being mindful of the commercial impacts of such solutions. Additionally the role holder will be involved in the presentation of Financial Statements for SPV companies managed by SMBC Aviation Capital (AC).

Technical Data Manager

Overview of Role

The Business Information (BI) Team is responsible for collecting, reviewing, analysing, controlling and ensuring consistency of all core information within the business in relation to our fleet of owned and managed aircraft and aircraft leases. This information is then used to provide management and financial information to and between the business and numerous key stakeholders including the Airline Marketing team, Finance team, Senior Management, our Shareholders and Third party stakeholders such as auditors, regulators, financiers and professional advisors.

Based in Dublin, the Technical Data Manager will work with the other members of the Business Information team and will have a responsibility in controlling all Technical Aircraft information. This is an extremely important role as it has responsibility for keeping up to date the current physical condition of an aircraft and for extracting the maximum information from the utilisation / inspection / shop visit reports that we receive. A key objective of the Business Information team is to maintain the integrity of the data held in our systems and this role is integral to achieving that objective.

Accounts Receivable Manager (12 month contract)

Overview of Role

SMBC Aviation Capital (SMBC AC) is looking for a highly motivated Accounts Receivable Manager with a strong commercial mind-set to join our Finance team. The role is based in Dublin and reports to the SVP Financial Operations.

Our principal activity is leasing and trading aircraft, with a clear focus on young commercial jet aircraft of the types most popular with our customers. This has allowed us to deliver 15 consecutive years of growth and profitability.The role represents a unique opportunity for candidates with vision, energy and ambition to make their contribution to our transactions, work within a multi-disciplinary organisation and deepen and extend their commercial acumen.

Overall, as well as having an opportunity to work with the many core disciplines within SMBC AC, the role provides an excellent vantage point from which to see and understand many aspects of our transactions.

This particular role is an Accounts Receivable Manager role which is highly visible within the business.The role has a wide variety of responsibilities.Specifically, the correct production of invoices, the reporting of receivables to the relationship/contract managers and the management and allocation of the various cash deposits (maintenance reserves and security deposits) to the appropriate fund.The role holder will also be involved in the relevant financial reporting processes ensuring the company financial statements accurately reflect the amounts billed over the relevant period.

Personal Assistant

Overview of Role

Based in Dublin, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall administration support to the Chairman, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Legal Officer (CLO), the Head of Strategic Market and Analysis (SMA) and their teams along with certain related duties (additional responsibilities).

Vice President Investor Relations & Funding

Overview of the role:

Since our inception in 2001, our shareholders have been our primary debt providers. Today, our shareholder funding represents c. 50% of our total debt funding requirements. While we expect that our shareholder will continue to be our primary debt provider, in order to provide us with increased flexibility and scale to finance our future growth plans, our strategy is to develop a more diversified range of financing sources for a proportion of our funding requirements. In this regard, we issued our inaugural $500m senior unsecured bond in July 2016, followed up by a second issuance of a $500m senior unsecured bond in July 2017.

The Funding team is responsible for the raising of our third party financing, managing our relationship with our external debt investors and to support our internal relationship with our shareholders

Commercial Negotiator - Asia Pacific Region (Based in Hong Kong)
