Data & Analytics Business Analyst
Our Information Technology team continues to progress at pace through our business transformation journey, identifying opportunities to use data-enabled decision intelligence to drive business strategy. Knowing the core data points required for key decisions, with the ability to generate data-driven insights, business intelligence analysis and drive predictions & forecasts is key to executing on this strategy.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to drive the extraction of key business decision intelligence from our data, while working with the business community to improve data-driven operational efficiencies. The individual will play a key role in transforming our data & analytics strategy to focus on business intelligence, analytics, natural language-driven data metrics, data storytelling, by challenging existing methods. Given the aircraft leasing industry, the data environment is more complicated than it is complex, making this an exciting challenge & opportunity to innovate & create scalable analytical reports that are fit for purpose.
Core Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence: Design business intelligence and/or predictive analytics reporting wireframes to enhance data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business teams to understand their needs and translate them into data requirements and actionable insights.

Metrics: Working with the business community, define & maintain core company metrics.

Data Governance: Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across reports, influencing strong data literacy practices.

Project Delivery: Drive projects to deliver data products that meet business requirements, from initial requirements gathering to final implementation.

Capability Ownership: Drive the data analysis and business intelligence capability, implementing best practices for data analysis, data governance, and report user adoption. Work closely with SQL Data Engineers, Report & Application Developers, & business teams to maintain the data estate, ensuring seamless data integration and availability on the data platform. Develop strong relations across the organisation, understand the company pain points and needs and translate them into actionable digital & data initiatives through active collaboration with all IT/Business colleagues.

Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and coach team members on data analysis and business intelligence best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Innovation and Transformation: Drive the transformation of data insights to focus on business intelligence & predictive analytics, challenging existing methods.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics or related field (Chartered Accountant, Business Analytics, Citizen Data Science, Commercial Analysis, Statistics, Finance, Economics et seq.).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
- At least some supervisory or IT project management/delivery experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data visualisation best practice, reporting, data storytelling.
- At least a basic knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices to manage data quality.
- Commercial/business acumen.
- Demonstrative ability to apply critical thinking, growth mindset, creativity and resilience to projects.
Advantageous
- Data & Analytics or relevant tooling related courses e.g Power BI, Data Literacy, Data Storytelling.
- Experience in Waterfall or Agile IT delivery methodologies.
- Experience within the aircraft leasing industry or banking.
- Experience in working with data engineering teams.
- Experience with AI and machine learning, or citizen data science.
- Experience in GenAI tools usage for business purposes or SLM/LLM working knowledge.
