VP/SVP Airline Marketing EMEA

This role will be Dublin based and report directly to the EVP, Airline Marketing for EMEA. The successful applicant will be involved with sourcing and developing new business opportunities for SMBC AC and deepening airline relationships.

The opportunity What you need Join our team

Core Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for airline relationships in region

  • Manage the lease and re-lease of owned and managed aircraft in SMBC AC’s fleet

  • Originate the placement of SMBC AC’s orderbook positions

  • Source new capex opportunities

  • Interface with other parts of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group to identify and capture wider business opportunities

  • Provide market insight to the business to enable tactical and strategic decision making

  • Lead cross-functional deal teams in Letter of Intent/Term Sheet negotiations 

Qualifications & Experience

  • A background in the aviation industry is required, with 5+ years’ experience gained from another lessor, airline, manufacturer, bank or other financing entity

  • Clear understanding of aviation finance and lease transaction structures (operating lease, sale & leaseback, JOL, JOLCO, commercial debt)

  • Proven ability to manage large ticket, complex transactions with a track record in sourcing, closing and maintaining business opportunities

  • Comprehensive network of relationships in the sector 

  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional deal teams 

  • Fluency in a second language (outside English) beneficial

  • Willingness to travel extensively, occasionally at short notice

  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate demands of different time zones
