Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company (SMFL)

SMFL was created in 2007 through the merger of two leasing companies owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) and Sumitomo Corporation (SC) to provide equipment finance and operating lease products. SMFL is the primary vehicle through which SMFG and SC have invested in SMBC Aviation Capital.

SC is one of the largest trading companies in the world with total assets of over Japanese Yen 11.6 trillion and over 83,000 employees in 64 countries. The company can trace its roots back to the 17th century and today operates in a variety of business fields, with investments in 500 companies globally. SC has engaged in the aircraft leasing business since the 1990's.
