SMBC Aviation Capital's annual Difference Day event took place in June 2023.
In June 2023, the SMBC Aviation Capital team and our shareholders travelled to Ballymun to rebuild the playgrounds and outdoor areas of two local Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools (DEIS) - St. Joseph’s Junior School and St. Joseph’s Senior School. With over 200 staff donning their hard hats and gloves, we set to work.
After hours of painting, gardening, building, and tidying, we transformed the outdoor areas into something unrecognisable. Through our collective efforts, we were able to create a space where children could learn, grow, and thrive.
Every day feels like Christmas morning here at St. Joseph’s as the outdoor spaces and amenities have brought so much joy to the young pupil’s daily school life. They are running to school every morning, bright and early, ready to learn, have fun, and be in this safe haven with their classmates and teachers.
