​​Flybondi.com and SMBC Aviation Capital mark delivery of the airline’s first aircraft

Buenos Aires, December 5th 2017:

Flybondi.com, Argentina’s first low cost airline today celebrates the delivery of its first aircraft from SMBC Aviation Capital, a B737-800.The aircraft with Manufacturers Serial number (MSN) 33821 was delivered in an all economy class configuration and is powered by CFM engines.

This is SMBC Aviation Capital’s first aircraft with Flybondi.com and is also SMBC Aviation Capital’s first aircraft to deliver into the Argentinian market.The aircraft recently underwent a modification program in Asia and delivered to Flybondi.com in November.

Flybondi.com, is a start-up, ultra-low cost airline with plans to start commercial operations in early January following the much anticipated deregulation of the Argentinian airline marketplace.This B737 will be employed on Flybondi.com’s first routes from Cordoba and El Palomar, Buenos Aires to Argentina’s main cities.

Julian founded the Swiss airline Flybaboo in 2003 and served as a director in AviaSolutions/GE Capital Aviation Services (London). He studied Economics at the London School of Economics and later obtained an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York.

Flybondi.com is backed by highly-experienced aviation investors and executives. Cartesian Capital Group LLC is lead investor alongside Yamasa Co. Limited. Private investors include Michael Cawley, former COO at Ryanair, and board member; Michael Powell, former CFO at Wizz Air and Chairman of the board; Montie Brewer, former CEO at Air Canada; Robert Wright, former Board Member at Wizz Air and Bertrand Grabowski, former head of DVB aircraft finance division.
