SMBC Aviation Capital concludes two aircraft deal with Norwegian Air Shuttle

Dublin September 28th, 2017 - SMBC Aviation Capital, the leading aircraft leasing company has today announced that it has concluded a two Boeing 737-800 aircraft deal with Norwegian Air Shuttle.

The first aircraft (MSN 42090) delivered to Norwegian last week with the second aircraft (MSN 42092) in the deal expected to be delivered in the last quarter of 2017.

Commenting, Brian Harvey, Chief Marketing Officer, SMBC Aviation Capital said, "We are delighted to conclude another transaction with Norwegian. We have a long history of working together and are pleased to support the continuing growth in their business."

By the end of 2017, SMBC Aviation Capital will have completed a total of 10 sale and leaseback transactions with the airline since 2011, of which six units have been placed in the last 18 months.

SMBC Aviation Capital's owned, managed and committed portfolio of B737-800 aircraft stands at 196. In addition to its portfolio of B737-800s, SMBC Aviation Capital has an order book of 90 737 MAX 8s, with the first delivery scheduled in 2018.
